FAQs

Am I able to put the Glass Lunch Pot in the microwave?

Yes, you can microwave the Glass Lunch Pot, the silicone lid and the wood fiber base. DO NOT microwave the stainless steel lid. Ensure the glass pot is heated inside the wood fiber base, which is heat resistant and will ensure you don’t burn your hands. The silicone lid has a small tab that can be tucked inside the rim of the glass pot, ensuring a vacuum doesn’t form when the pot is being heated. This lid also ensures a splatter-free experience. You should heat food for a max of 2 minutes, stirring and repeating as necessary.

Am I able to put the Glass Lunch Pot in the oven?

The stainless steel lid and wood fiber base are NOT oven safe, however the glass pot (on its own) and silicone lid are. DO NOT allow direct contact with flames or use it with the grill. Glass is susceptible to breaking if there is a sudden change in temperature so ensure it is room temperature before placing it in the oven (i.e. do not move directly from fridge or freezer to preheated oven) and DO NOT run under cold water or place on a cold surface directly from the oven.

Am I able to put the Glass Lunch Pot in the dishwasher?

Yes, you can clean all parts of this product in a dishwasher. However, we recommend using the top rack if possible. Be careful to wait until the glass pot has cooled after a cycle, and avoid placing directly onto a cold surface as it may break due to thermal shock.

Am I able to put the Glass Lunch Pot in the freezer?

All parts of the Glass Lunch Pot can go in the freezer, but you must ensure food is completely defrosted before reheating and never use the microwave or oven to defrost your food. Also, as liquid expands by about 9% when it freezes, you should ensure some space in the lunch pot before freezing, and do not overfill.

Is the Glass Lunch Pot BPS and BPA-free?

Yes, they are.

Is there anything I can do to make the stainless steel lid easier to open?

Sometimes, after it’s been used a few times, the lid may become stiff and difficult to open. Simply apply some vegetable oil to the inside and wipe dry, this will make it easier to open. Never close the stainless steel lid on the wood fiber base without first ensuring the glass lunch pot and silicone lid are also inside.

What is in the wood fiber base?

The protective wood fiber bowl is made from a mixture of polypropylene and sustainably sourced PEFC wood fiber (30%).

If the glass breaks, can I get a replacement?

Yes, just go to the REPLACEMENT PARTS collection of our site to find the part you need.

Features

clean & safe

The silicone lid protects your microwave from food splatter and the clever air release tab ensures no heat vacuum forms whilst heating.

high-quality glass

The glass used in the Lunch Pot is Borosilicate, which is lightweight, stain resistant and strong.

wood fiber base

The protective and heat resistant base ensures the product can be handled straight from the microwave, with a silicone ring which stops the base from slipping or moving.

a word from the designer

The brief for this design came from seeing a growing trend of people using standard glass food containers or mason/kilner jars as their lunch box. Although these products were fine for home-use, they were not suited for on-the-go, being heavy, fragile, and not fully leak proof. Taking advantage of the light weight and strength of Borosilicate glass, we were able to create a better solution. The design is modern but has an almost utilitarian retro appeal. Using Stainless Steel and the wood-fiber polymer base to protect the glass is a lovely combination of materials. The end design is innovative and unique to the market. It offers a durable, functional solution that will age well and is perfect for carrying your food with you and for eating from.
